Christian Zeal and Activity is originally from American Standard, a work with three movemints in three styles: march, hymn, and jazz. A pre-recorded tape, with some thematic connection to the music, is to be created by the performers for each movement. In the case of Christian Zeal and Activity, the tape does not necessarily have to have any religios content. Possibilities suggested by the composer range from a collage of broadcast preachers to musique concrète.
